Black Dragon Breakfast Club and The Haus of Soul
(Philadelphia, PA - February 13, 2022) - Black Dragon Breakfast Club and The Haus of Soul are hosting its first installment of Flower Power Hour: A Canna-Wellness Series, in Philadelphia, PA 19122. This event will begin at 3:00 pm in efforts to create an alternative option for health and wellness services and products provided that will suit the need for Black women to pursue a healthy lifestyle outside of westernized medicine.
Tsehaitu Abye, founder of Black Dragon Breakfast Club is the event curator and will serve as the event liaison. “When I liberate myself, I liberate others. If you don’t speak out ain’t nobody going to speak out for you.” Fannie Lou Hamer
This is a safe space where Black women are able to prioritize their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being in real-time. Those in attendance will have the luxury of learning why prescribing plant medicine is necessary in the 21st century along with ways to implement soulful yoga in their daily routine without feeling overwhelmed and overworked. “We have so much coming in as sisters, when is our interior life ever put at the forefront? We constantly want to give to other people. Too much of not caring for yourself is not a good thing. We’re bad at that as achievers. Self-care is a priority and we have to do it more.” Ava DuVernay
Founded in 2016, Black Dragon Breakfast Club's main objective has been to help BIPOC and women reclaim their agency and take control of the hemp and cannabis industry. Ever since its conception, Black Dragon Breakfast Club has intentionally branded its mission by mobilizing Women of Color to buy into the health and wellness lifestyle of a Dragon Bae by curating educational-based cannabis content, giving Black women an outlet to learn about the benefits of cannabis and how to get involved in cannabis advocacy.
The cannabis industry is an industry that has legs of its own, especially during the pandemic, however less than 10% of the industry is owned by Black women and Women of Color. Black Dragon Breakfast Club understands the importance of having a diverse team of marketers, creatives and advocates who will rummage all stereotypes that suggest Black women are not equal in such an industry by establishing a narrative that empowers Black women and Women of Color to invest in natural remedies that will lead to healthier living conditions that will benefit society as a whole. “Racism is so universal in this country, so widespread, and deep-seated, that it is invisible because it is so normal.” Shirley Chisholm
Flower Power Hour is a cannabis wellness series that is centered around cannabis and total wellbeing. This event is supported by CANN, Open Apothecary, Industry Standard Affairs, and the Haus of Soul.
